To connect a laptop to a SMART Board-SMP interactive whiteboard system

1. Connect the laptop computer to the SMART GoWire cable, and then connect the

SMART GoWire cable to the CAT 5 USB extender.

OR

Connect the laptop computer directly to the CAT 5 USB extender.

2. Connect a VGA cable from the laptop computer to the computer.

OR

Connect an HDMI cable from the laptop computer to the projector.

NOTES

o

If you use an HDMI cable, change the USB port mapping so that USB-2 is associated

with the HDMI-2 input.

o

Do not use a DVI to HDMI adapter.

o

Do not use a DVI-D-to-HDMI cable. DVI-D doesn’t carry audio and you’ll have audio

problems.

3. Press the Input button on the ECP or remote control to switch input sources to the laptop

computer.
