SPECIAL CUTTING TECHNIQUES

cuts not covered in this
manual un less you are thoroughly familiar
with procedures and fixtur ing.
These types of
cuts include, but are not limited to, tapered cuts
and complex non-through cutting, such as
plunge cutting, resawing, moulding head cutting,
and plowing . This table saw is a highly versatile
tool, ca pa ble of performing a wide range of
highly specialized cuts that cannot be covered in
this manual .

CUTTING METALS AND MASONRY
WARNING
This table saw is not rec-
ommended for cutting met-
als, such as aluminum or copper, even with
a special blade designed to cut these ma-
terials.
WARNING
This table saw is not rec-
ommended for cutting any
masonry material, even with abrasive cut-
off wheels.
WARNING
For your own safety, turn
switch “OFF” and remove
plug from power source outlet be fore maintain-
ing or lubricating your saw.
CLEAR DUST CHUTE/SCOOP
At times, thin cut-offs may fall through the table
insert and down into the dust chute . These may
accumulate and hamper dust collection . Your table
saw is designed with a tool-free access Dust
Chute/Scoop for quickly and easily clearing this
space .
1. Loosen dust chute/scoop retainer screw
(Fig . 62) .
2. Remove the dust chute/scoop by sliding it
away from the tool and use it to clear any
debris .
3. Reattach dust chute/scoop and secure with
retainer screw .
WARNING
Tool should not be operated
without securing dust chute/
scoop properly with the retainer screw.
Do not allow sawdust to accumulate inside the
saw . Frequently blow out any dust that may accu-
mulate inside the saw cabinet, motor or blade ele-
vation gears . Clean your cutting tools (i .e . blades)
with a Gum and Pitch Remover .
Periodically clean the guard . Wipe it or blow it
clean with compressed air .
The cord and the tool should be wiped with a dry
clean cloth to prevent deterioration from oil and
grease .
Maintaining Your Table Saw
WARNING
Certain cleaning agents and
solvents can damage plastic
parts.
Some of these are: gasoline, carbon tetra-
chloride, chlorinated cleaning solvents, ammonia
and household detergents which contain am-
monia . Avoiding use of these and other types of
cleaning agents will minimize the possibility of
damage .
A coat of automobile-type wax applied to the table
will help to keep the surface clean and allow work-
pieces to slide more freely .
If the power cord is worn or cut, or damaged in
any way, have it replaced immediately .
