SOLARFOLD
Thank you for purchasing the
SWISS
SOLARFOLD. Never before a mobile solar charger was more
rugged and easier to handle. If used properly, the SolarfFold d will be your companion for many years.
1. The SolarFold is flexible
The laminated thin film solar cells are break-proof (without glass) and can
be slightly bent.
Attention:
Too strongly bending or folding will rupture the modular layer
and may cause output losses or even destroy the SolarFold. No warranty
2. The SolarFold is waterproof IP67
The
SWISS
SOLARFOLD is designed for hard outdoor operation.
It is waterproof an will survive any weather between -40°C and +90°C.
3. Maintenance and cleaning
The dark blue front of the panel should be kept as clean and dust free as
possible. Cleaning is preferably done with water and soap. Never use
abrasive detergents (scratches) or corrosive cleaners. Fold the cell over
and over again as if delivered from the factory (in a zigzag).

4. Energy efficiency / performance
The highest energy efficiency and performance is achieved with the
SolarFold if its front side is directly aimed at the sun. With full sunshine the
charging current is comparable with the performance of an AC Adapter.
5. Voltage and current fluctuations
As you don’t always need the solar electricity at times it’s being produced,
you might consider storing it in some way. Changing weather conditions
cause voltage fluctuations and power cuts due to irregular "shading
patterns” of an overcast sky. That’s what PowerTanks are good for: they
store electricity being "harvested” by the solar cell and provide it at any time
you need to charge or power your gadgets. You can obtain PowerTanks of
different capacities depending on your needs.
6. Optional accessory Mobile PowerTanks
The ideal complement for the SolarFold. These PowerTanks accumulate all
energy produced by the SolarFold which is not immediately needed and
supplie this current on demand, also at night. A powerful LED light makes it
suitable as a torch.
7. Optional accessory battery charger
Many devices like GPS, CD player, torches etc. can be operated with
rechargeable batteries. Used with the SolarFold in combination with the
Powertank XL and XXL the Swisscharger recharge AA or AAA size
rechargeable batteries
8. Optional accessory adapter plug
With the manifold of available cable the
SWISS
SOLARFOLD can be used
with hundreds of different mobile phones, MP3 players, iPods / iPhones,
GPS navigation systems, etc.
