(Do not continue pumping for more than 5 minutes at a time if NO result Is achieved. Try expressing
at another time during the day)
6. 0n average you will need to pump for 8 minutes to express 120m1. However, this Is lust a
guide and varies from woman to woman. If you find that you regularly express more than
120m1 per session, you can use a bigger feeding bottle. (Do not overfill the milk bottle,
otherwise it may leak)

8. WHEN TO USE YOUR BREAST PUMP
1. If possible. After sufficient in milk secretion and breast• feeding time normally. Usually two
or four weeks after birth the baby.
2. In the following cases, you can always use your breast pump:
• If you are breasting for the baby in the hospital
• If your breasts are bulging (with swelling), you can suck out a part between two feeding time
to relieve pain, this also make it easier to suck for baby.
• If your nipple pain or cracking, you can suck out the milk for feeding until the nipple back to
normal.
• If you need to separate with your baby and hope to continue breastfeeding, when reunion,
breast milk can be sucked out periodically to maintain milk secretion.
9. HINTS TO HELP YOU SUCCEED
Using a breast pump takes practice. You may need to make several attempts before you succeed.
1. Choose a quiet time when you are not rushed and unlikely to be disturbed.
2. Breast position usually sitting back and perpendicular to the ground. Please put in your back
a comfortable cushion before breasting. Sitting could may all breasting process more relax and
more comfortable. Make sure you have a glass of water nearby as expressing can be thirsty work.
3. Placing a warm cloth on your breasts for a few minutes before you start pumping can also
encourage your milk flow and soothe painful breasts.
4. Warmth and relaxation can help so you might like to try expressing after a warm bath or shower.
5. Try expressing from one breast while your baby Is feeding from the other, or continue expressing
just after a feed.
6. Repositioning the pump on your breast from time to time can help stimulate your milk ducts.
