SYSTEM OPERATIONS-15
Fuel fumes in the engine compartment
can explode. Before working on any
electrical wiring, ventilate the engine
compartment and disconnect the bat-
teries to prevent sparking.
NEVER reset a breaker switch which
has tripped automatically without
fi
rst
locating and correcting the problem.
The electrical system and devices may
be damaged.
Alterations or extensions to the electri-
cal system can cause electrical shock
or
fi
re. ONLY competent marine elec-
tricians should make system changes
according to U.S. Coast Guard regula-
tions.
3.
Auto Bilge Switches - The Auto
Bilge Switches are located below the Gen-
erator Switches. There are three (3) sets
of switches. These switches are used to
test the bilge pumps. Each set has an ON/
OFF Switch and a Reset Switch. There
is one set for each of the Bilge Pumps;
Forward, Mid, and Aft. The DC Power to
these switches comes from the breaker
located between the Port and Starboard
Battery Switches.
4.
Flybridge Switches - Below the
Auto Bilge Switches are two (2) switches.
They are the Flybridge Electric and the
Electronics Main Switches. Both switches
get their power from the Port and Star-
board Battery Switches. Both these
switches turn ON and OFF the DC Power
to the Helm Accessory Switches.
5.
Main Breaker Section - The Main
Breaker Section has two (2) columns of
switches. The top breaker on each col-
umn turns all switches below it ON and
OFF. The Main Battery 1 breaker controls
all breakers in the left column below the
breaker and the Main Battery 2 breaker
controls all the breakers in the right col-
umn below the breaker. The Main Breaker
1 breaker gets its’ power from the Port
Battery Switch and the Main Battery 2
breaker gets its’ power from the Starboard
Battery Switch.
FUSE BOX - Behind the DC Panel is a
fuse box.
Turn off all electric power to your AC/
DC Panel when opening the door to
the electrical cabinet. The power can
be turned off by the two (2) main DC
switches at the top of the panel and
the main AC switch in the AC portion
of the Panel. In addition, make sure to
remove all shore power cords and shut
down the Generator. Do not forget the
breaker for the memory.
The fuse box can be divided into two (2)
separate categories: Those fuses that
are constantly ON and those that are not
constantly ON.
Constantly ON Fuses - The con-
stantly ON fuses get their power
from the breaker between the Port
and Starboard Battery Switch.
