Answer Machine (Voice Mail)
When setting the device up for the first time, the answer machine will be enabled by default with the
preset outgoing message. Decide whether you want the answer machine to be on or off. You can
recognise the enabled answer machine from the activated display on the base [13].
You can conveniently configure the answer machine from the handset. For a detailed
description, see the chapter voice mail on page137.
If new messages have been left on the answer machine, this will be indicated on the handset. The text
“New Message: x” (x = number of new messages) will be shown under the handset name. The number
of new messages will be shown on the base display. Both indicators flash.
You can listen to the messages simply by pressing the Play button [20] on the base. To delete a
message, while listening to the message press the Delete button [16].
On the handset you can listen to new messages easily by pressing the left display button [12].
If messages have already been listened to but not deleted, the base display [13] will
show the number of messages. This indication does not flash.
Remote Listening to the Messages
The answer machine supports a remote listening function. This enables you to listen to your messages
when on the move. However, this feature requires performing the following steps from a telephone with
tone dial mode.
