Chapter 5
About PCI Cards
The Silicon Graphics 320 visual workstation contains three PCI card
option slots on two PCI buses—one half-length 32-bit-wide slot on
bus:0 and two full-length 64-bit-wide slots on bus:1. This chapter tells
you how to install and remove PCI option cards. For maximum
performance, install cards in bus:1 slots first.
If you purchased a SCSI PCI option card and internal SCSI hard
drives, see Chapter 4, “Internal Drives,” for information on installing
or removing the drives and attaching or disconnecting the internal
SCSI cable.
Note:
The Silicon Graphics 320 visual workstation supports
3.3-volt PCI cards only. It does not support 5.0-volt
PCI cards.
Also, the workstation does not support PCI graphics cards.
Multi-head capabilities will be available in a future release of
Windows NT.
