2-5-1. Radio Waves
Do not use ST-700 near the equipment below.
- Industrial, scientific, and medical equipment such as microwave ovens and pacemakers
- Specified low power radio station (A non-licensed radio station)
The above equipment uses the same radio frequency band as ones used in wireless LANs. Radio
interference can occur if ST-700 is used near these devices. This can result in a communication failure
or slower communication speed.
Do not use ST-700 near a cellular phone, TV or Radio.
Cellular phones, televisions and radios use a different radio frequency band from ones used in wireless
LANs. Generally, using these devices near ST-700 will not affect communication of ST-700 or these
devices. However, when they are placed closed to wireless LAN products, audio or video noise may
occur due to electromagnetic waves generated by the wireless LAN products including ST-700.
If there is reinforced concrete/metal between wireless devices, they may not connect.
ST-700 can make radio communications through wood or glass walls used in ordinary houses.
However, the signals will not pass through walls made of reinforced steel, metal, concrete, or similar
materials. Radio communications cannot be made across rooms with these types of walls, and the
same goes for floors: communication cannot be made through floors using reinforced steel, metal,
concrete, or similar materials
A certificate of conformity to technical standards has been obtained for ST-700. Make sure of the
following before use.
- Do not disassemble or remodel ST-700. It is prohibited by law.
- Do not remove the certificate label. Use of ST-700 without the label is prohibited.
Wireless devices using 2.4 GHz band
The operating frequency band of ST-700 is used by microwave ovens, industrial, scientific and medical
devices, and also by premise radio stations (licensed) and specified low-power radio stations (non-
licensed) for mobile identification used in factory manufacturing lines.
- Before using ST-700, make sure that there are no premise radio stations or specified low-power
radio stations for mobile identification in the immediate area.
- If ST-700 generates signal interference with a premise radio station for mobile identification, either
immediately change the operating frequency band or stop transmitting signals, and contact Silex
Technology, Inc. about possible corrective actions for preventing interference (such as installation
of a partition).
- For other problems, such as signal interference with a specified low-power radio station for mobile
identification due to ST-700, contact Silex Technology, Inc.
