1 Safety Instructions
Read the operating manual carefully. Follow all instructions and notices to prevent injury or
damage to property.
Intended use
The electronic digital thermometer SolarTemp 850 / 851 is a local indicating temperature
measuring device and may only be used for measuring (-60...650 °C) and indicating tempera-
tures of liquid and gaseous media.
WARNING
The digital thermometer of the type SolarTemp 850 / 851 is no safety component
in accordance with Directive 2006/42/EC (Machine Directive).
Never use the device as a safety component.
Qualified personnel
•
The personnel who are charged for the installation, operation and maintenance of the de-
vice must hold a relevant qualification. This can be based on training or relevant tuition.
General safety Instructions

Degree of protection according to EN 60529:
Ensure that the ambient conditions at the site of use do not exceed the requirements for
the stated protection rating
•
The device may not be opened otherwise the specified degree of protection is lost.
•
Only use the device if it is in perfect condition. Damaged or faulty devices must be
checked immediately and, if necessary, replaced.
•
Never remove the protective tube/immersion tube of the measuring insert from a plant in
operation.
•
Do not remove or obliterate type plates or other markings on the device, as otherwise,
the warranty is rendered null and void.
