The 1000BASE-T standard does not support forced mode. Auto-
negotiation should always be used to establish a connection over any 
1000BASE-T port or trunk.

◆

When auto-negotiation is enabled with the 

negotiation

 command, the 

switch will negotiate the best settings for a link based on the 

capabilities

 

command. When auto-negotiation is disabled, you must manually specify 
the link attributes with the 

speed-duplex

 and 

flowcontrol

 commands.
