If using the USB adaptor, plug this into a free USB port, follow the instruction
for installing the supplied driver from CD, and then connect the other end of the
adaptor into the RS232 cable.
c) Select Start - Run and browse to find the Windows update program
UPDATE.EXE
, which by default will have been placed in a folder named
c:\Program Files\Signal Recovery\DSP Update Wizard
, and double-click on
the program icon to start it.
d) When the program starts, simply follow the on-screen instructions. In the event
that the update is for any reason unsuccessful, turn the instrument off and start
this procedure again.
e) The update typically takes approximately 10 minutes although it may take longer
with slow computers or if the computer is being used for other work while it is
running.
f) If the procedure completes successfully then the lock-in amplifier will now be
updated with the new firmware and you may start using it simply by cycling the
power to the instrument two times, each time leaving it switched off for 5
seconds before turning it back on.
