This large-aperture telephoto zoom
lens has an open-aperture value of
F2.8 throughout the entire zoom
range. It is equipped with Sigma’s
own camera shake compensation OS
system which reduces camera shake
by about 4 stops. It can handle all
kinds of subjects including portraits,
sports and landscapes. Two FLD glass
elements, which have performance
equal to fluorite glass, and three
SLD (Special Low Dispersion) glass
elements provide excellent correction
of color aberration. High image quality
is ensured even from the maximum
large aperture of F2.8. The Super
Multi-Layer Coating reduces the
occurrence of flare and ghosting. HSM
makes fast AF and quiet shooting a
reality and includes full-manual focus
override. This lens also accommodates
optional APO Tele Converters.

This is a 10X telephoto zoom
lens that covers the standard-to-
telephoto range and incorporates
Sigma's own Camera Shake
Compensation OS (Optical
Stabilizer) System. This is the only
lens photographers need to shoot
a wide variety of subjects such
as sports, wildlife, close-ups and
airplanes, without the need for a
tripod. SLD (Special Low Dispersion)
glass is used for superior correction
of chromatic aberration and high-
quality images throughout the
entire zoom range. The HSM
makes fast AF speeds and quiet
shooting a reality, and includes
full-time manual focus override.
With an APO Tele Converter, the
lens becomes a 1000mm ultra-
telephoto.
