Improvement of interference immunity
● Lay signal cables separate from cables with voltages > 60 V.
● Use cables with twisted wires.
● Keep device and cables at a distance from strong electromagnetic fields.
● Take account of the conditions for communication specified in the Technical data
● Use shielded cables to guarantee the full specification according to MODBUS-RTU/
Profibus DP.

Connecting power supply and EIA-485 on primary side
If the SITRANS I300 is not at the end of the fieldbus, or you terminate the bus in a different way,
go to chapter Connecting devices on secondary side (Page 25).
If the SITRANS I300 is at the end of the fieldbus, and is used as bus termination continue with
this chapter.
Primary side
Connect the supply voltage and EIA-485 Master to the primary side (top) as shown in the
illustration below. The EIA-485 output can be used to connect further SITRANS I300.
Note
The terminal box is detachable
For easier access, unplug the terminal box. After connecting the wires, plug the terminal box
back in.
