7.2.5 Transfer between 2 sources, with 3 switching devices
The schematic diagram below shows the setup of a transfer with 3 switching devices. For
this purpose, the following applications can be used:
● 2S - 1T - PL
● 2S - 1T - SI
● 2S - 1T - AI
● 2S - NPL
For a precise description of the behavior of the ATCs during a transfer, see chapter Load
management with the ATC6500 (Page 20).
In some of the above listed applications it is not possible to use a mechanical and/or
electrical interlock as, for example, in the case of 2S-1T-SI, both breakers BRK1 and BRK2
are normally closed (both sources available) and the tie breaker is open. For this reason, the
two switching devices cannot be interlocked with each other.
The table below indicates whether an interlock is possible between the breakers BRK1 and
BRK2:

* Depending on the type of switching device; by means of a Bowden cable system there is sometimes
also the possibility of implementing such applications with a mechanical interlock
