Change default passwords

You can find this information in the following paths:
•
With MSPS: "Security > Users"
•
With X-200 and X-300: "System > System Passwords and Login Mode"
Default setting
The default accounts in older firmware versions are "admin" and "user" The
respective passwords are "admin" and "user".
The "user" account has been completely removed from current MSPS versions and
is no longer created by default.
Recommendation
Change the passwords of both accounts and use secure passwords.
Delete the "user" account if it is not used.
Note
With the X-200 and X-300, you are neither able to rename or delete the "admin"
and "user" accounts.
Note on MSPS devices
The "user" account cannot change the configuration. If the password is not
changed, the settings are visible to all.
With MSPS devices, you will be automatically prompted on the first logon to
change the (admin) password. Optionally, you can also change the name of the
initial "admin" account (only once after a reset).
The following password policies are available:
•
High
–
Password length: a minimum of 8 characters, a maximum of 128
characters
–
At least 1 upper case letter
–
At least 1 special character
–
At least 1 number
•
User-defined
The password must meet the configured requirements. You can configure the
requirements under "Security > Passwords > Options".
The password policy is "High" by default.
