4.3 Reset button - resetting the configuration to the factory settings

Restart - follow the steps below
1.
If necessary, remove the SCALANCE S device from its mounting to allow access to the
compartment. The compartment is protected by a screw plug.
2.
Remove the M32 plug on the rear of the device.
The reset button is in a compartment on the rear of the SCALANCE S directly above the
slot for the C-PLUG.
3.
Press the reset button for less than five seconds.
The restart takes up to 2 minutes. During the restart, the fault LED is lit orange. Make
sure that the power supply is not interrupted during the reset.
On completion of the restart, the device automatically changes to productive mode. The
fault LED is then lit permanently green.
4.
Close the recess with the M32 plug and mount the device again.
Reset to factory settings - follow the steps below
Note
If a C-PLUG is plugged in when you reset to factory settings, the C-PLUG is erased.
1.

slot for the C-PLUG.
3.
Keep the reset button pressed for a minimum of 5 seconds until the fault display flashes
orange-red.
Resetting takes up to 2 minutes. During the reset, the fault LED flashes orange-red. Make
sure that the power supply is not interrupted during this time.
On completion of the reset, the device starts up again automatically. The restart takes up
to 2 minutes. During the restart, the fault LED is lit orange. Make sure that the power
supply is not interrupted during the reset.
4.
Close the recess with the M32 plug and mount the device again.
