Requirements
●
Always make sure there is a low-resistance connection to the functional ground (PE).
●
If you use the fixing screw as grounding connection, the thread of the fixing screw or the
contact facing of the fastening nut on the base must be unpainted. This ensures a low-
resistance connection.
Required tools (only if grounding via the grounding cable is required).

M5 x 10 grounding screw and washers

Grounding cable (copper braided cable) with minimum cross-section of 4 mm

Mount the module on the grounded, metallic base as
described in section "Mounting the I/O module
(Page 12)"

Isolate the grounding cable and secure the cable lug.
2.
Screw the cable lug on to the communication module
(M5 grounding screw). The tightening torque is 3 Nm.
