After the work is completed, it is necessary to perform a functional test and
commissioning of the controller. Particularly a “Quick Start” and “Scan” of all
channels with the FibroManager must be performed in order to set the status of the
controller and the status of the fibre(s). Additionally by connecting the controller to
a service PC the system date and the system time are set to the correct value.
Batteries may not be disposed of with normal household waste due to their
concentration of harmful substances. End users are legally obligated to return
used old batteries or dispose of them in the correct manner.
5.3.3
Power supply replacement
If the controller is fully without any function (no LED’s light up after switching on, no
buzzer tone is audible and no connection to the FibroManager is possible), the
power supply could be faulty.
A defective power supply can be replaced if necessary. A replacement at the
manufacturer is always preferable due to the improved diagnostics possibilities and
with regard to liability. In particular, the user is not able to ascertain whether the
error cause is located in the power supply or in one of the modules that are to be
supplied.
When an error is present in one of the modules that are to be supplied, it is
possible that in the case of a replacement of the power supply this will cause a
defect in the new power supply. In this case, the manufacturer does not provide a
warranty for the new power supply.
The following error sources must be excluded before the controller is opened and
the power supply is replaced:
missing supply voltage
incorrect supply voltage
the power supply cable is not connected correctly on both sides
fuse has been blown.
Then run through the following sequence:
1
Procure the replacement part in accordance with the spare parts list
2
Remove the defective part
3
Install the replacement part
4
Check the function of the controller. If errors in regard to the function remain,
then one of the modules that are to be supplied is defective and the controller
must be sent in to the manufacturer.
5
Store the new correction factor of the voltmeter of the power supply in the
controller:
for this purpose, there is a label on the new power supply and the packaging.
After the successful replacement of the power supply, the data must be
entered in the FibroManager under the tab “Service”
group “Support”
button “power supply replacement” and must be transmitted to the controller:
Example of serial number of new power supply (S/N)
Example of correction factor of the voltmeter of the new power supply (factor)
Example of checksum of the new power supply (code)
