Forwarding Calls
This section describes these forwarding features:
•
Fixed forwarding
•
Variable forwarding
Fixed Forwarding
The fixed forwarding feature allows your calls to be automatically
forwarded to another extension number.
Fixed forwarding is often used to forward unanswered calls to the
PhoneMail system or to a message center.
Cancel fixed forwarding as follows:
1. Lift the receiver.
2. Listen for the dial tone.
3. Dial .
4. Listen for the confirmation tone.
5. Hang up.
Restore fixed forwarding as follows:
1. Lift the receiver.
2. Listen for the dial tone.
3. Dial .
4. Hang up.
Variable Forwarding
Variable forwarding allows you to specify an extension number or
external number that calls are forwarded to.
Variable forwarding takes precedence over fixed forwarding. This
allows you to control where and under what conditions your calls are
forwarded, even if forwarding targets are preassigned. Depending on
the forwarding option you choose, variable forwarding can either
completely override fixed forwarding, or it can modify the types of
calls that are forwarded and the conditions under which they are
forwarded.
