Communication message
Depending on the communication module selected, the following information can be
configured as process data:

Position
The position is output in message IO<04 or IO<08 as an input to the PLC.
The position is stated in steps. The value is output in two data words (4 bytes). The value
range is always between 00000000 … 03FFFFFFh. The top limit is defined using the
configurable parameter
Total Measuring Range
(see section 3.5

Evaluate bit 31 of the input data using your control system to detect serious errors!
If, in the case of serious error, it cannot be ensured the position output is correct, this
situation is indicated by setting the most significant bit 31. The position value is then
outside the valid range and can be identified as clearly erroneous (see section 5.3.2
on page 22).
