5 Maintenance and Inspections
5-1
Cautions for Use
(1) Prevent any hose from being bent along its length or clogged.
(2) Secure sufficient ventilation during continuous operation.
(3) Dry run the unit (approx. 30 min) every two weeks when you do not plan to use it for a long
time. Be sure that the unit is not affected by humidity especially when the humidity is high in
a rainy season.
5-2 Cleaning the Andersen Sampler
When the Andersen Sampler is not in use, clean, dry, and reassemble the classifier stages.
Use an ultrasonic cleaning device for efficient cleaning.
Use a low-concentration neutral detergent solution for the cleaning solution. Rinse the stages
with water and then wipe them with a soft cloth.
5-3 Replacing the Pump
Replace the pump by the procedures below.
The suction pump might still be hot immediately after it stops. In this case, check that the pump
has returned to a normal temperature before replacing it.
(1) Remove the power cords of the unit and suction pump.
(2) Remove the hose from the intake port of the suction pump.
