Supervisor/User Password Setting
You can set either supervisor or user password, or both of them.
The differences between them are:
Supervisor Password and User Password
The options on the Password screen menu make it possible to restrict
access to the Setup program by enabling you to set passwords for two
different access modes: Supervisor mode and User mode. In general, Su-
pervisor mode has full access to the Setup options, whereas User mode
has restricted access to the options. By setting separate Supervisor and
User password, a system supervisor can limit who can change critical
Setup values.
Enter Password
Type the password up to eight characters, and press <Enter>. The pass-
word typed now will clear any previously entered password from CMOS
memory. You will be asked to confirm the password. Type the password
again and press <Enter>. You may also press <Esc> to abort the selec-
tion and not enter a password. To disable password, just press <Enter>
when you are prompted to enter password. A message will confirm the
password being disabled. Once the password is disabled, the system will
boot and you can enter Setup freely.
