 20.  Cylinder head ass’y 
 

①

  Set the piston at the TDC and measure the injection 

beyond the cylinder block with a depth gauge or 
dial gauge. 

 

NOTE: 
1.  Measure holding the piston lightly by hand. 
2. Use the cylinder with the largest projection 

distance among the 3 cylinders as the reference. 
The variation of the projection should be within 
0.1 mm. 

 

②

 Select a head gasket according to the measured 

value.

 Tighten the cylinder head in several steps in the 

order as shown in the right figure and tighten with 
the specified torque finally. 

 

Cylinder head tightening torque 

98 – 103 N·m {10 – 10.5 kgf·m} 

 

NOTE: 

1.  Take care to the spring pin which positions the 

cylinder head ass’y. 

2.  Coat the thread with grease containing disulfide 

molybdenum.
