Gauge Mode
Gauge Mode turns the Petrel into a simple depth and time display
(a�k�a� a bottom timer)�
Change to Gauge Mode in the System Setup

Dive Setup menu�
Since decompression tissues are not tracked in Gauge Mode, changing to or
from Gauge Mode resets the deco tissues�
Features:
• Extra-Large Depth Display (in feet or meters)
• Extra-Large Time Display (in minutes:seconds)
• Maximum and Average Depth on main screen�
• Stopwatch
• Resettable Average Depth
The Gauge display is organized as�
• Depths along the left�
• Times along the right�
• Most important information (Depth, Dive Time) on the top row�
Stopwatch
The Stopwatch is only available in Gauge Mode�
When diving, starting or stopping the Stopwatch is the first menu option.
When stopped, the word “Stopwatch” displays in red�
When non-zero, the stopwatch can be reset� Reset behavior depends on
state:
• If running when reset, it continues running, counting up again from 0�
• If stopped when reset, then it is set 0 and remains stopped�
Resettable Average Depth
During a dive, the average depth can be reset�
While on the surface, the MAX and AVG values display the maximum and
average depth of the last dive� The AVG depth displayed on the surface is
for the entire dive, regardless of whether the reset average depth option was
used� The dive log also records the average depth for the entire dive�
