In this dictionary, German translations or equivalents of a French word can be found
by entering its spelling. Features such as Phrase search, Spellcheck, Crossword
solver and Anagram solver are also available.
Looking up a word by Filter search
A translation of a French word can be looked up by inputting its spelling.
<Example>
Find the translation of ‘voir’.
1. Press
r
to open Langenscheidt
Französisch-Deutsch .
The input screen appears.
2. Type in the spelling of ‘voir’.
As you type, candidates for matching narrow.
If the desired word is found, then there is no
need to type any more letters.

to move ‘ ’ to point at the
desired word, then press

. The detail
view of the word appears.

Note about entering characters
While entering characters, exclude characters such as spaces, hyphens, apostrophes,
slashes, commas, periods and brackets. See pages 14 and 15 for details.
The Conjugation of French Verbs
With irregular French verbs, the verb paradigm is
linked to the entry (headword) by a .
• Use the ‘Jump’ function to call up the verb
paradigms (Press

and point at
the reference of the verb paradigm behind
the arrow, then press

).
• The corresponding conjugation is displayed.
• Press

to exit the verb paradigm and
return to the keyword entry.
Proceed as follows to call up all conjugations of French verbs as a list:
