To set the internal clock by the RDS TIME
signal
You can set the internal clock using the RDS time signal (RDS
CT data).
This is useful because it allows the internal clock to be set
automatically from the RDS time signal being broadcast by
an RDS station.
●
Before setting the internal clock from the RDS time signal,
it is necessary for you to have selected and set one of the
three internal clock display modes, as shown on 9 page.
If no display mode has been set, the clock display will de-
fault to the 24-hour display mode (0:00 - 23:59).

●
"RDS TIME" and "WAITING" will appear alternately. Wait
until "COMPLETE" appears. (It will appear in less than 60
seconds.)
4
After the internal clock has been set from the RDS
time signal, "COMPLETE" will be displayed for 3 sec-
onds. Then the updated internal clock time (that has
been set according to the RDS time) will be displayed.
●
Press the CLOCK button to check whether the internal
clock is displaying the same time as the RDS clock.
Notes:
●
When the CLOCK button is pressed whilst the RDS time is
being displayed, the RDS clock and the internal clock can
be displayed alternately, which allows you to compare the
time shown.
If you have not yet set the clock display mode, "CLOCK"
will appear in the internal clock time display.
●
Whilst "RDS TIME" and "WAITING" are being displayed
alternately:
If you press the CLOCK button, you will cancel the internal
clock setting operation.
If you press any other button to interrupt the alternating
display, the internal clock setting operation will be cancelled.
However, if "VOLUME", "X-BASS", "FLAT", "HEAVY", "VO-
CAL", "SOFT" or "SURROUND" is being displayed, the in-
ternal clock setting operation will not be cancelled, even if
you press another button.
●
When you are using the internal clock as a timer, you can-
not set the internal clock. If you press and hold the CLOCK
button for at least 3 seconds, "CAN’T SET" will be displayed.
●
Whilst "NO CT" or "CT" is being displayed, the internal clock
cannot be set. (When the CLOCK button is pressed, the
internal clock will be displayed for 5 seconds.)
●
If the signal from a broadcast station is extremely weak or
is electrically noisy, you may not be able to set the internal
clock.
