PROCEDURE 3:
Locate the Maintenance section for the DSPF/RSPF in the Service Manual’s
Maintenance section
and review the
following:
Maintenance counter check
Cleaning and replacement intervals
Grease used
PROCEDURE 4:
Following the steps in the service manual, perform the following:
1.
Remove the
Pickup, Feed, and Separation rollers.
2.
Reinstall the rollers to avoid losing them.
3.
Remove the
OC Mat
.
4.
Remove the
Upper door unit
.
5.
Remove the
Lamp Unit.
6.
Remove the CCD/Optical Unit (DSPF unit only)
Note
: Be sure not to touch the Lamp or CCD Lens surface.
7.
Reinstall all the components previously removed.
8.
Remove the
Paper Feed Tray.
9.
Remove the
Paper Feed Unit.
10.
Remove the
Paper guide
and remove the
Torque limiter.
11.
Reassemble the document feeder and test its operation.
12.
Reinstall the document feeder covers.
PROCEDURE 5
Perform the following adjustments using the Service Manual.
1.
DSPF/RSPF Document size width sensor adjustment
.
NOTE:
The third position is A5R, which is the line that is not labeled.
2.
Image Send mode, Image loss adjustment, and the Fax send mode Image Loss adjustment.
(These adjustments help get rid of lines on edges of copies by increasing/decreasing margin erase.)
3.
Shading adjustment (calibration) (DSPF mode)

NOTE:
Refer to the Service Manual as some models require a shading sheet to be placed in DSPF.
4.
Scanner calibration (CCD calibration) (DSPF mode)
NOTE:
The SIT Chart is dependent upon the machine model number. Please refer to the service manual for
the correct part number.
5.
DSPF/RSPF Parallelism Adjustment.
Review adjustment in Service Manual and perform if needed.
6.
DSPF/RSPF Skew Adjustment (Front Surface Mode).
Review adjustment in Service Manual and
perform if needed.
7.
DSPF Skew adjustment (Back Surface Mode).
Review adjustment in Service Manual.
