GENERAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS
WARNING:
Read and understand all the instructions! Failure to follow all the instructions below may result
in electric short circuit, fire or serious personal injury.
1. Work area
1. Keep the work area clean and well lit. Ubiquitous work desks and dark rooms are often the cause of
accidents.
2. Do not use power tools in an explosive atmosphere, eg in the presence of flammable liquids, gases
or dust. Power tools generate sparks that can ignite dust or fumes.
3. While using power tools, keep the children and the rest of the person away. Distraction can cause
loss of control over tools.
2. Electrical safety
1. The power tool plugs must match the outputs (sockets). Never modify the plugs in any way! Do not
use plug adapters with grounded power tools. Unpainted plugs and corresponding output sockets
reduce the risk of electric shock.
2. Avoid body contact with grounded surfaces such as pipes, radiators, stoves and refrigerators. There
is an increased risk of electric shock if your body is grounded.
3. Never expose the power tool to rain or damp conditions! Water entering the power tool will increase
the risk of electric shock.
4. Do not damage the cable. Never use a cord to carry, pull or disconnect the power tool from the
power supply. Keep the cable away from heat, oil, sharp edges, and moving parts. Damaged or
tangled cables increase the risk of electric shock.
5. When using power tools outside, use extension cables suitable for outdoor use. The use of cables
suitable for outdoor use reduces the risk of electric shock.
3. Personal safety
1. Be alert. Watch what you are doing and use common sense when using power tools. Do not use
power tools when you are tired, under the influence of drugs, alcohol or medication. A moment of
inattention when using power tools can cause serious personal injury.
2. Use safety precautions. Always wear safety glasses. Safety precautions such as a respirator, anti-
slip safety footwear, helmet or hearing protectors used under the appropriate conditions will reduce the
risk of personal injury.
3. Prevent accidental start-up. Ensure that the power tool is switched off when the power supply is
connected (control switch in the OFF position). Moving the power tool with your finger on the control
switch or connecting the power tool to the power supply with the switch turned on increases the risk of
an accident.
4. Remove all set wrenches or tools before turning on the power tool. The tool or key left attached to
the rotating part of the power tool may cause personal injury.
