toolsVeHci SOFTWARE LOADING UTILITY

Loading software to a DPG or DSD

Software for the DPG and DSD is contained in the VE432 CDROM. To load a new
software release from the CDROM to a DSD you have to use the toolsVeHci utility
available on the HCI workstation. It allows you to load software to a palmtop computer
or a PCMCIA card.

Prior to starting toolsVeHci make sure the VE432 is in MANUAL mode. (Click the
MANUAL button in the VE432 main window). If AUTO is activated, the DPG may get
stuck as you start toolsVeHci.

To start toolsVeHci, open a Console or Command Tool window and type

toolsVeHci

NOTE

All messages will appear in the Console window. Therefore, it is
advisable to start toolsVeHci in that window.

The following menu is prompted:

1- Load Husky

2- Load DPG slave file to PCMCIA

3- Load DSD file to PCMCIA

4- Format PCMCIA

5- Load DPG file to PCMCIA

6- Load custom file to PCMCIA

(You quit the menu by pressing RETURN).

You only have to type the choice number of the desired task. Because any of the
above commands may be intended for one of four DPGs, the HCI prompts you to
specify the DPG you wish to address:

Load Husky

. Used to load the latest version of palmtop software to the

palmtop computer. You have to connect the palmtop computer to the DPG
(COM 1) and type the following command on the palmtop keypad:

Then a message on the palmtop computer tells you it is waiting for
downloading.
