notjumpnorclimb,e.g.turtles,orthatdonotreachtheupper
frameoftheterrariumforotherreasons.Firsttakeoutthefront
orbackmeshframe.Foldthemeshframe(3.1)upwardsandto
thefrontor,incaseofthebackframe,pullitouttothebackto
doso.Donotbendthefold-upmeshframesfortakingthem
out.Nowplacethe
sera
lighthoodpreciselyintheframeholder
forthemeshcover(3.2).Connectthe
sera
lighthoodtothe
mainssupplyandswitchonthelamps.
Using timers
Bothlightfunctionscanalsocomfortablybecontrolledwitha
timer.Thelampswitchesmustbeinthe“I”positionforthispur-
pose.Alsofollowtheinformationforuseofthetimeryouuse.
Cleaning
Thesurfaceofthe
sera reptil terra top
canbewipedwitha
slightlymoistcloth.Usenon-corrosive,solventfreeneutralde-
tergentsandnoorganicsolventsorabrasivedetergentssuch
asscouringagents.
Maintenance
Lamp replacement
Faulty,flickeringoronlyweaklyburninglampsshouldbere-
placed.Disconnecttheunitfromthemainssupplybeforetaking
the
sera
lighthoodofftheterrarium.Placethe
sera
lighthood
onasoftmatwiththebottomsidefacingupwards.Unscrewthe
lampsfromthefixturesbyhand.Followthedisposaladviceof
themanufacturer.
LeD replacement (fig. 4)
TheLEDlightingconsistsoftwoblockswiththreelightemitting
diodes(1.3)each.Thethreelightemittingdiodeswithinablock
arelinkedwitheachother,thereforetheotherLEDswillalsonot
emitlightanymoreifoneLEDfails.Thismeansyoupossibly
havetoreplaceonlyoneLEDifablockfails.TheLEDscanbe
pulledoutbyhandwithoutanytools(4.1).TheanodeoftheLED
(4.2)directstowardstheinnerside,thecathode(4.3)towards
theoutside.Youwillnoticeawideandanarrowmetalpiece
(4.2/4.3)whenholdingtheLEDbyitscontactsandwatching
throughitfromtheside.Thewidemetalpiece(4.3)ofthelight
emittingdiodeisthecathode,thenarrowoneistheanode(4.2).
YoucaneasilycheckwhichLEDisfaultybyusinga3Vcoin
cell,oryoureplaceallthreeLEDsofablockwithafunctioning
LEDoneaftertheotheruntilyoufoundthefaultyLED.
