IMPORTANT SAFEGUARDS

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed including
the following:

1

Read all instructions.

2

Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.

3

To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cords, plugs, or appliance in water or
other liquid.

4

Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.

5

Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before you putting on
or taking off parts.

6

Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug or after it malfunctions or has
been damaged in any manner.

7

For assistance, call 1-866-4 Senseo (1-866-473-6736) or visit our website at www.senseo.us.

8

The use of accessory attachments not recommended by the

9

manufacturer may cause injuries.

10

Do not use outdoors.

11

Do not let cord hang over edge of table or counter or touch hot surfaces.

12

Do not place on or near a hot gas or electric burner, or in heated oven.

13

Extreme caution must be used when moving an appliance containing hot liquids.

14

To disconnect, turn off by pressing the power button and then remove plug from wall outlet.

15

Do not use the appliance for other than intended use.

16

This appliance is intended for household use ONLY. It is not intended for commercial or
industrial use.

17

To remove the plug, grip plug body and pull it from the outlet.

18

Never yank or twist cord to unplug.

19

Do not use this coffee machine if its lid has a cracked, loose, weakened, or damaged lever.

20

The machine does not work at temperatures below 50ºF (10ºC).

21

Do not use the machine at altitudes higher than 6800ft. (2200m) above sea level.

22

Flush the coffee machine with fresh water before you use it for the first time (see chapter
‘Preparing the machine for use’). This causes the system to fill with water, which is essential
for the machine to work properly.

23

Operate the coffee machine on a flat, stable surface away from the edge of the counter to
avoid accidental tipping.

24

To prevent scalds and/or property damage, always make sure the coffee machine lid is
securely locked before or during a brewing cycle. Do not use force when you open or close
lid.

25

Do not open lid until coffee machine has finished brewing cycle.

26

Hot steam or hot water trapped under lid could burn your fingers.

Warning: To reduce the risk of fire or electric shock, do not remove the bottom cover. No
user-serviceable parts are inside. For assistance, call 1-866-4 Senseo (1-866-473-6736) or
