Hostname
For
hostname
, you may enter anything as it does not affect functionality of the firewall. Assigning a
hostname to the firewall will allow you to access the GUI console by hostname as well as IP address.
For the purposes of this guide, we will use
pfsense
for the Hostname as shown in
Figure 5
The default hostname,
pfsense
may be left unchanged.
Once saved in the configuration, console access can be reached by entering
http://pfsense
as well as
http://192.168.1.1
