Initiating a point-to-point call
In standby mode, you can input the phone
number, short number or function number of
the called party, and press
to initiate a call
according to screen prompts. The last
registered function number will be passed to
the network by UUS1. Refer to the procedure
for making a call in the basic call functions.
Initiating a group call
In standby mode, you can input a group call
number and press the call key. Your handheld
will automatically prompt the call menu
according to SIM card settings. You can initiate
a group call by select the group call in the
menu. You can also choose
Menu
>
GSM-R
>
Group Calls
and select
GRP
.
Initiating a broadcast call
In standby mode, you can input a broadcast
call number and press the call key. Your
handheld will automatically prompt the call
menu according to SIM card settings. You can
initiate a broadcast call by selecting the
broadcast call in the menu. You can also
choose
Main Menu
>
GSM-R
>
Group Calls
and select
BCT
.
Note:
The screen will not prompt you the menu
for selecting group/broadcast calls if an
incorrect or inactivated group/broadcast call
number is inputted in standby mode. Then you
cannot initiate a group/broadcast call.
Initiating a railway emergency call
In standby mode, you can
Press and hold
the Right soft key
to initiate a railway emergency
call. The screen will prompt you a
confirmation message before initiating the
railway emergency call.
Press the PTT key to confirm it, which is
the only way to initiate a railway
emergency call.
Ending a group call
The initiator of a group call can end the group
