Product description
To keep maintenance and operating costs to a minimum,
the B 10 has been fitted with a lithium battery to ensure an
extremely long service life of 10 years. There is no need to
change the battery. When the 10-year battery service life
expires, simply replace the B 10. Consistent safety - even
after long a long period of operation - is guaranteed by the
automatic sensitivity adjustment feature. This ensures a
consistently high level of reliability even after many years
of service.
The alarm can be switched off for approx. 10 minutes by
briefly pressing the large button.
Installation position
For
optimum protection
of your home, install smoke
detectors in all rooms, corridors, basements and store
rooms. Ensure
basic protection
by installing smoke

on all floors
(Fig. 1 and 2)
.
Installation/Commissioning
Refer to the current national guidelines on installation
and standards for smoke detectors (e.g. in Germany: DIN

• First install the base as centrally as possible on the
ceiling
(Fig. 3)
• Protect the device from dust when drilling holes
• Mount the detector on its base and turn it clockwise
until it clicks into place
(Fig 5.1)
• The ON/OFF switch on the underside of the smoke
detector
(Fig. 4.1)
automatically switches the device
on when the detector correctly clicks into place on the
base
(Fig. 5.1)
. The red LED under the button briefly
flashes approx. every 35 seconds
(Fig. 5.2)
.
• Perform the test function by pressing and holding
the button
(Fig. 5.2)
(for at least 3 seconds) until you
hear a loud, intermittent alarm signal (see also Test/
Maintenance). In the event of any technical problems,
contact the manufacturer or your local distributor.
• If you remove the device from its base the smoke
detector will switch off after a few seconds
Note
• Mount the detector in the centre of the ceiling
• Do not install smoke detectors in bathrooms
(high ambient humidity), garages (exhaust
fumes), draughty environments (including for
example ventilation outlets / inlets) or in lofts
(Fig.
2)

20° the detector can be mounted on the pitched
roof area.
• Maintain a distance of at least 50 cm from walls,
ceiling joints (beams), objectsand lights
• Rooms of over 60 m² and corridors longer than
15 m require several detectors
