VII. Maintaining a waterproof seal
The flash uses a silicone o-ring and gasket to maintain a
waterproof seal. The o-ring is the primary waterproof seal while
the gasket helps prevent sand and debris from reaching the o-ring.
Every flash is depth tested to ensure a
waterproof seal. It is your responsibility to
regularly inspect the o-ring and sealing
surfaces and maintain this waterproof seal.
Always perform these inspection procedures
before using underwater.
How to inspect the o-ring and sealing area
1. Do not remove the o-ring or gasket. If
o-ring or gasket is damaged and needs to
be replaced, please contact the SeaLife
service center in your country. See the
end of this manual for service information.
2. Carefully inspect the o-ring and gasket
for cuts (A) and tears (B). It helps to gently
glide the o-ring and gasket through your
fingers so you can feel any imperfections
or damage.
