The 12000 carrier board contains 2 Gigabit Ethernet Ports at location P3. One is supported on all Type 6
COM Express modules. The second is implemented on the carrier board with PCIe x1 lane 0 of the COM
express module. The Gigabit Ethernet Ports are terminated to a 2x1Dual RJ-45 connector with integrated
magnetics. Each RJ-45 port contains 2 status LEDs. The lower RJ-45 connector on P3 is the port native to
the COM express module, the upper port is the NIC implemented with PCIe on the carrier board. The left
status LED is Green, and the right status LED is Orange on both ports. On the upper port the Left/Green LED
shows link status, while the right/Orange LED shows network activity. The use of the LEDs on the lower
port is dependent on the COM Express module implementation.
