Serial Port 3 Operation

Serial port 3 is the RS-485 serial port on the 12000 system.

For RS-485 half-duplex, no-echo mode, set the jumper on J12 to pins 2-3 and, in the Device Manager

Port Properties Advanced tab, enable the “16950 RS

-485

Enable” feature

. The COM Express carrier

board must be removed to access the J12 and SW1 to configure Port 3.

If the echo feature is required move the jumper on J12 to Pins 1-2.
