Controllers
4.1.
Protocols – CNC (FC&iSCSI) & SAS
AssuredSAN 3xx4 controller architecture maximizes performance, including
Two host ports per controller
3xx4 controller supports 8Gb FC, 16Gb FC, 1GbE iSCSI or 10GbE iSCSI SFPs.
3xx4 SAS controller supports 6Gb and 12Gb SAS host connectivity using mini-SAS HD Cables. (Also
supports four port-expansion (Y-cables) to enable up to four dual-port hosts to be attached.)
6GB transportable read/write cache per controller.

Single Controllers:
Single controllers are supported in the 2U12 and 2U24 but NOT recommended due to lack of failover
capability.
4.2.
SFPs
For CNC versions (D38xxx), one four-pack set is advised. Both FC and iSCSI transceivers contain unique
identification preventing unqualified SFP’s from being used in the 3xx4 (EX) controller.
Dot Hill branded SFP's must be ordered with the AssuredSAN 3xx4 controllers with the CNC (Converged Network
Controller). They are available in 4 packs, so quantity 1 is recommended. They are available in 1G iSCSI, 10G
iSCSI, 8G FC, or 16G FC. SAS and JBOD systems do not require SFP's.
