having to discharge it beforehand. The internal voltage
level of each Lithium-Ion battery is monitored electroni-
cally. Differences between the internal battery cells are
compensated for and balanced (cell balancing).
A fully discharged or empty battery
(from use or otherwise) should immediately be charged
(within 24 hours) and continuously during longer periods
of storage (trickle-charge) to avoid total discharge, which
may cause irreparable chemical damage to the valuable
High-Energy Lithium-Ion batteries. Charge to at least the
charge state "Air Transport / Storage". Do not interrupt
charging before this charge state has been reached.
Tip:
Once the minimum charge state of "Air Transport
/ Storage" has been reached, then charging may be in-
terrupted. However, when charging is interrupted, the
power of the craft is reduced due to the lower battery
charge state.
9. An airplane symbol will appear in the center of the
display when either the correct charge state for air
transport or the minimum charge state for storage
has been reached. When all bars are present in the
battery symbol, the SEABOB is fully charged for op-
eration.
10. To save energy and to reduce maintenance charging,
the display turns itself off automatically 10 minutes
after charging is completed (“complete”). By pressing
any button, the display can be switched on again (for
another 10 minutes).
11. To complete the charging process, first pull the power
plug from the outlet. Never attempt to remove the
power plug from the outlet by twisting or pulling on
the cable line. Always hold on to the plug itself.
12. Only after this has been done should you disconnect
the connector (which is no longer carrying electric-
ity) from the SEABOB connection port. Never at-
tempt to remove the connector by twisting or pulling
on the cable line of the connector. Always hold on to
the connector itself.
To complete the charging process, first
pull the power plug from the outlet. Only then should
you disconnect the connector from the connection port.
Danger of short circuit!
Never twist the connector to discon-
nect it from the SEABOB connection port. This could
result in the connector and the connection port being
damaged or bent.
The charger and connector can get hot
while charging. After you have finished charging, let the
charger and connector cool down before you touch them.
13. Turn the dry and clean screw cap clockwise into the
SEABOB connection port, until you feel a slight resist-
ance.
Always ensure that the screw cap has been placed se-
curely on the connection port.
