Hull
Inspect hull for cracks or damage.
Jet Pump Water Intake
Remove weeds, shells, debris or any-
thing else that could restrict the flow of
water and damage the cooling system
or propulsion units. Clean as necessary.
If any obstruction cannot be removed,
refer to an authorized SEA-DOO sport
boat dealer for servicing.
Inspect leading edges of the impeller
for nicks or bends, which will greatly
reduce performance.
Bilge
If water is present in the bilge, use
bilge pump or unscrew the drain plugs
if the boat is on a trailer. Block the
wheels and raise the bow slightly with
the trailer jack (if so equipped) so that
the water can flow out of the bilge.
Battery
Fuel Tank/Oil Reservoirs
With the boat horizontal, fill the fuel
tank to specified level.
Check the oil level and refill reservoir
as necessary.
CAUTION:
Oil system must be pres-
surized. Always ensure that reservoir
caps are firmly tightened. Refer to
M
2
Jet Drive Operator‘s Guide
for com-
plete reservoirs filling procedure.
Check fuel tank/oil reservoirs retaining
straps/fasteners.
Engine Compartment
Fire Extinguisher
Make sure it is full, in good condition
and well secured.
Steering System
Have another person help check steer-
ing operation for free movement.
When the steering is centered, the jet
pump nozzle should be in the straight
ahead position. Ensure the jet pump
nozzle pivots easily when steering is
turned.
Throttle/Shifter System
Check that reverse gate moves freely.
With throttle/shift lever in forward po-
sition, the gate should be in upward
position. With the throttle/shift lever in
neutral position, gate should be in mid-
dle position. With throttle/shift lever in
reverse position, gate should be in
downward position.
Inlet Grate
Ensure inlet grate is not blocked or ob-
structed by any weeds or debris. Refer
to
M

Jet Drive Operator’s Guide
.
WARNING
Make sure drain plugs are proper-
ly secured before launching the
boat in water.
WARNING
Verify tightness of battery cables
to their posts and condition of re-
taining straps/fasteners. Do not
boost battery while installed in the
engine compartment.
WARNING
Should any leak or gasoline odor
be present, do not start the engine.
Consult an authorized SEA-DOO
sport boat dealer before use.
WARNING
Check steering and corresponding
steering nozzle operation before
starting.
