If the unit is supplied with a sealed lead acid battery, the flying lead connector should be plugged
into the header marked “Battery” (CN2) on the SMPS15 Power Supply unit. The battery will now
be in circuit and the unit will power up (red power LED will light on lower chassis plate). Note: if
battery fuse (F1) requires replacement at any time, use only type 2A Anti-Surge (AS), 1.25”, UL
Listed.
8
Replace the cover and re-tighten the four retaining screws.
9
Finally, after checking all connections, insert the mains cord set into the IEC type connector
located at the base of the unit and plug in to a suitable earthed wall outlet. With mains power
applied, the red LED on the base of the unit should be lit.
10
The system is now ready to accept calls from the host terminal. When a call is transmitted, the
green LED on the base of the unit will light momentarily.

Switching any of the above pins to the Common (Ground) pin 7 will trigger the respective alarm. Default
messages of Alarm 1 through Alarm 10 will appear on logical pager 1 unless customized. Message
repeats can be set for N/O contacts. The default setting is two minutes, this can be changed within certain
parameters if specified at the time of ordering. Note: Customization of the contact messages must be
requested at the time of placing the order. The default setting can be changed at the time of ordering from
N/O to N/C. This will however cancel the option of repeating the message until the input is reset.
