SLIDE SWITCHES

$ i x id e n tic a l slide switches labeled "Secondary

Storage" are used by M IN IV A C 601 for manual

storage  of  data  and  for  other  computer  switching
functio ns.  Each  sw itch  has  two  sets  of  contacts
w hich  open  and  close  together.

The slide switch is set to one of two positions by the computer

operator, and it stays in that position until moved. The

sw itch thus "remembers" its position and "stores" this

inform ation. The slide switch also provides a convenient

means for changing c irc u its w hich are programmed

on the com puter, and it may be used for

other computer switching functions as w e ll.

Each of the s ix slide switches has six term inals

underneath the panel to the

slide switch co n tacts. The

term inals are labeled

R ,S , T , U , V , W , and

are connected in the same

manner for a ll six sw itches.

Each switch is id entified

by its section number.
