7.  HEATER ASSEMBLY  

 

Tools Needed: (not supplied) 

 

Adjustable Wrench, Slip Joint Pliers, Phillips Screwdriver-Medium Blade (#2 or #3 blade),  Ham-
mer, 3/8” Masonry Drill Bit (if mounting on concrete patio), Plumbing Seal/Tape for Joints,  Spray 
Bottle of Soapy Water or Paint Brush and  soapy water (leak testing) 

1.  Using nuts and bolts 

supplied, fasten the post 
stub plate to the base 
cover. 

2.  Align access port in post to 

slot in post stub.  
Secure the post to the stub 
using screws supplied. 

5.  Tip post/base assembly on its side.  

 The gas hose can be connected to the gas supply either: 



With hose extended under the heater base (typical) 



Gas connection is concealed and protected under 
heater base 



With hose out through the access port in the post 



Gas connection is exposed - sidewall/above deck con-
nection 



Ensure exposed gas hose is protected from physical 
damage  

6.  Make connection from gas supply to gas hose 



Note: Concealed gas connection under heater: Once 
heater is fully installed, temporary access to concealed 
connections in the gas supply will be required for leak 
testing 

OR 

3.   Connect gas hose to burner and secure connection with a 

wrench. 

4.   Feed gas hose and 24V wire down the post and temporarily 

secure the burner assembly to post with screws supplied.  

HAND TIGHTEN the fastening screws at this time. When the  
heater is connected to the gas supply, the burner head will 
need to be lifted to leak test the hose connection to the 
burner valve.
