The tactile mat consists of elec-
trodes (steel plates) which are se-
parated from each other. These
are held apart using insulation
strips.
Electrode strips located between
the two steel plates cause an
electrical short circuit when the
pressure sensitive mat (tactile
mat) is actuated.
