Operating instructions SATA filter 400
2. System operation
The SATA 400 modular filter line may be used for purifying compressed air, non-toxic and non-combu-
stible gaseous media. It separates the solid, liquid and partially gaseous components from the air flowing
through the unit. Without a filter, these components would lead to negative effects in regard to the follow-
up devices resp. the work results achieved with it as well as the worker health protection.
2.1. Stage Filter (I):
The sintered filter, filtering stage 1, separates particles larger than 5
μ
m as well as condensed water
and oil. A built-in pressure regulator (nos. 1-3) allows precise air adjustments of the outlet pressure
without fluctuations. When condensation in the filter tube (no. 7) reaches a certain level, a built-in
automatic condensate discharger (no.9) opens, pressurizing the condensate and forcing it out
through the drain hose (no. 10); a small non-drainable portion is left inside.

Stage Filter (II):
The fine filter in stage 2 filter separates tiny particles according to the filtration capacity of the
cartridge used.
Filter type SATA filter 434 Filtration capacity 0,01mm, 99,998 % separation
The construction of the activated charcoal filter SATA filter 464 is identical to the fine filter SATA filter
434 (SATA filter 434L). The SATA filter 464 filter contains an activated charcoal cartridge (Art. No.
85373). All activated charcoal filters must be preceded by a condensate discharge unit and a fine
filter stage.
