5. Troubleshooting
Problem Possible causes Solution
The ‘Start/Stop’ switch is in
the STOP position
Move the switch to the
S T ART position.
The air filter is dirty Clean or replace the filter
The spark plug is dirty
and/or badly adjusted
Clean it and set the
electrode gap to 0.6 mm
The spark plug is old and
worn
Change the spark plug
No fuel in tank Fill up the tank
The fuel mixture is old or of
poor quality
Drain and refill the fuel tank
with fresh 2 stroke mixture at
the correct ratio (see section 4)
The carburettor is blocked or
poorly adjusted
Contact an authorised SANLI
dealer or service agent
The machine does not
start/ does not run
The exhaust pipe is blocked or
damaged
Clean or renew the exhaust
The spool is choked or
jammed by vegetation and
debris
Turn off the engine and
remove any blockage from
the spool or contact a SANLI ‐
approved service centre
The engine runs but the
nylon spool does not turn
The drive to the nylon spool
is damaged or worn
Contact a SANLI ‐ approved
service centre
The nylon spool is empty
Replace the line spool or
contact a SANLI ‐ approved
service centre
No sign of nylon cutting lines
The automatic line feed
system is blocked or
jammed
Dismantle and clean the
nylon line feed assembly or
contact a SANLI ‐ approved
service centre
