Cause
Solution
Motor will not start.
Power switch
Turn power switch to ON position and wait a moment.
After turning switch ON, expect a short delay before
motor starts.
Power plug
• Push plug securely into extension cord. Press cord
into clip to secure the connection.
• Plug extension cord securely into outlet.
• Try another outlet.
• Check circuit breaker.
Thermal cut-off
Refer to p. 3.
Vacuum cleaner
does not clean.
Dust bag and filters
Replace dust bag, clean and/or change filters.
Air path blocked
Remove debris from air path. Refer to p. 10-11.
No suction at end of hose
Check hose for blockage. Refer to p. 10-11.
Carpet height setting
Adjust knob to lower position. Refer to p. 10-11.
Red warning light is on.
Brushroll stall, full bag
or blockage
Replace dust bag or clear blockage. Push the power
switch to OFF to reset. Refer to p. 10-15.
Vacuum cleaner is
hard to push.
Carpet height setting
Adjust knob to higher position. Refer to p. 8-9.
Front cover will not close.
No dust bag
Install dust bag properly. Refer to p. 12-13.
Cannot remove or insert
disposable bag.
Front cover latch is in
locked position
Open latch on front cover. Locate bag collar and
squeeze tabs to remove or insert disposable bag.
Make sure vacuum is turned off and electrical power cord is unplugged.
