1/ Kontron TRACe-LP1 Overview
The Kontron TRACe-LP1 is a powerful gateway featuring Semtech’s LoRa® wireless RF IC solution with the following
main attributes:
Concentrates and transforms messages from LoRaWAN™ protocol to Ethernet MQTT secured data
streams
Integrated LoRaWAN™ server for single gateway configurations
On premise or cloud server connectivity to collect and distribute sensor data
Edge computing capability, for local sensor filtering or fusion
LoRa® 868 MHz 8 channels radio for EU (915 MHz Option for US)
Operating -40°C to +70°

The secured MQTT broker service can be ordered from Kontron, ordering codes are included in the datasheet. A demo
MQTT service (no built in security) can be used during three months at kontron-lora.cloudapp.net. The logs of the
sensor messages can be displayed with any MQTT client running on a laptop or a smartphone. One example of such a
client is mqtt.fx. The dashboard and application are context dependent, please consult Kontron.

This makes it a solution of choice for many new applications like in asset management, remote maintenance,
transportation, infrastructure monitoring, ...
Kontron TRACe-LP1 is designed for severe environment (temperature, vibrations, ...) including EN50155 rolling stock
conditions. A private LoRaWAN™ network can be instantaneously built without subscribing to a telecom operator
network. When needed, the gateway can be installed on a moving platform (train, ship, vehicle, ...) creating a mobile
LoRaWAN™ network.
