PCI Express Lanes [0-5]
The COMe-cEL6 supports up to six high-speed PCI Express 3.0 lanes PCIe [0-5], allowing for the connection of up to
six separate external PCIe devices. The default PCIe configuration is (6 x1) with options for (1 x2 + 4 x1), (2 x2 + 2x1)
and (1 x4 + 2x1).
The following table lists the standard supported PCI Express lane [0-5] configurations.

USB
The COMe-cEL6 supports two USB 3.1 Gen 2 ports backwards compatible with USB 2.0 and six dedicated USB 2.0 ports.
On request, up to four USB 3.1 ports are possible, by routing USB _SS1 to the USB 3.1 hub to output three USB 3.1 Gen 1
(5Gb/s) ports. As a result, the USB 2.0 count is reduced to 4x USB 2.0.
The following table lists the supported USB features.

2x USB 3.1 Gen 2 (10 Gb/s) (USB 2.0 backwards compatible)
6x USB 2.0
On request: 4x USB 3.1 (1x 10 Gb/s and 3x 5 Gb/s) and 4x USB 2.0

The USB speed can be changed in the BIOS setup menu: Chipset> PCH/IO Configuration> USB
Configuration> USB3 Link Speed> GEN1, GEN2.
When designing the carrier board consider the increased speed of the USB 3.1 Gen 2 10 Gb/s.
Kontron recommends to use a retimer/redriver on the carrier.
