CHAIN SAW OPERATING MANUAL
GB
Because such adjustment requires specific
training and work tools, always contact an
AUTHORISED AFTER-SALES SERVICE.
Screw
[T]:
hold the butterfly valve slightly open
so as to be able to regulate the
“MINIMUM”
rpm at an appropriate rotation speed.
CAUTION - HAZARD!! A high
adjustment of the “minimum” rpm
could trigger the centrifugal clutch and set
the cutting chain in motion even when the
throttle trigger is released.
9. MAINTENANCE
DANGER!! Never carry out any test,
maintenance or repair work with
the engine running.
9.1 CHAIN
See the specific section “8.4 CHAIN”
9.2 BAR
- Periodically clean the chain run groove and
the oil passages
- Lubricate the sprocket wheel with bearing grease.
- Reverse the bar on the occasion of every mainte-
nance operation to ensure more uniform wear.
9.3 AIR FILTER
A clogged air filter: reduces the efficiency of the
engine and the efficiency of cutting, while increas-
ing fuel consumption.
- The air filter should be cleaned more frequently
when the wood being cut is dry or the work envi-
ronment is dusty.
a)
Remove the filter cover (Fig. 20 part.1) un-
screwing the knob (Fig. 20 part.2).
-Raise the filter (Fig. 20 part.3).
- Separate the two halves (Fig. 22) with the aid
of a screwdriver if required
- Use compressed air to blow from the inside out-
wards.
b)
Change the filter if damaged (deformed and/or
cracked).
9.4 FUEL FILTER
Can be taken out (through the refilling hole Fig.
1 part.16) with a hook and held with a pair of
long-toothed pliers.
Change the filter at least once a year.
-
Use an original filter as replacement.
ENGLIS
H
Chain lubrication:
before each job, please check the efficiency of
the chain lubrication and test the oil level in the
tank (see charter 6 ); do not work without chain
lubrication: even a short use without lubrication,
would definitely damage either the bar or the
chain.
The efficiency of the oil flow can be tested (with
accelerated engine) by keeping the tip of the bar
near a surface in order to see some oil drops
(fig.36). Adjust, if needed, the oil flow (paragraph
8.5 and fig. 17).
Drive sprocked
: check the teeth wear ,
clearance on cranck shaft and rubricate the
bearing with bearings grease.
In case of chain / bar replacement, please use
original spare parts only; the type of bar and
chain originally supplied with the chain saw has
been tested and certificated according to the
existing laws, particularly in order to limit any kick
back danger (see charter A18); therefore using
non original bar and chain can be very dangerous
for the user.
The brand and type of bar and chain are
indicated on the technical data table.
9.5 OIL FILTER
Can be taken out for cleaning (through the refill-
ing hole Fig. 1 part.17) with a hook and held
with a pair of long-toothed pliers.
Replace if damaged.
- Position the filter in the bottom right of the tank
(for proper oil draft).
